Abstract
Memorial Statement for Professor Clyde I. Boyer, V.M.D. (1913-2003) who was appointed Associate Professor (1952) and Professor (1960) at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. Initially, he studied turkey diseases leading to a vaccination program for erysipelas, prevention of epizootics with water-administered penicillin, and studied salmonellosis and encephalomalacia which benefited turkey producers everywhere. He became the College's Professor of Laboratory Animal Medicine (1966) and subsequently Director (1972) of Laboratory Animal Medicine. This service supported the College as well as University-wide research programs. The memorial statements contained herein were prepared by the Office of the Dean of the University Faculty of Cornell University to honor its faculty for their service to the university.
