Multiple Blood Meals Boost Mosquitoes' Disease Transmission Potential

Other Titles

Abstract

When a mosquito bites a human or other animal to feed, it is called taking a bloodmeal. Humans can become infected with mosquito-borne viruses when they are bitten by an infected mosquito. This infographic summarizes results of a NEVBD-supported project investigating how taking multiple bloodmeals in a row affects a mosquito's ability to transmit a disease.
