dc.description.abstract | BACKGROUND: Cryptococcosis is the most common systemic mycosis of cats. Nasal, central nervous system (CNS), cutaneous, and systemic presentations have all been described in cats. CNS involvement and altered mental status are considered poor prognostic indicators. Successful treatment requires long-term anti-fungal therapy and serial antigen titers, which can often be practically and financially challenging for owners. | en_US |
