dc.description.abstract | A major factor in establishing the price of apples is the size of the fruit. An accurate estimate of final fruit size in mid-summer would be of inestimable value to the commercial fruit grower. On the basis of such information, cultural practices, such as irrigation and hand fruit thinning could be altered to improve final fruit size. Such an estimate would also provide guidance in the harvesting of the crop and in its disposition. | en_US |
