The information in this publication was originally prepared as an Extension letter series for farm managers interested in becoming better personnel managers. This publication combines all the letters in the series into one source for easy reference. It is not intended to be a complete reference on the subject of farm human resource management, but a discussion of basic principles. The information in this publication can be used in two ways. First, Cooperative Extension agents and others have mailed the letters one at a time to farm audiences. This approach has raised the level of awareness of the farm audience about human resource management issues. Second, as a compiled set of letters, this publication can serve as a management reference for the farm and small business manager.
