dc.description.abstractThe impact of antibiotic residuals on the composting process and the potential mitigation of antibiotic residuals in stockpiles and compost (turned and in-vessel) from a research review is presented. The specific results of an on-farm study of an in-vessel rotary drum composting system of separated solids (following screw press separation of dairy manure) are presented as an example, showing a 50% reduction of oxytetracycline residues and a 20% reduction in sulfadimethoxine residues after the compost treatment.en_US
