Abstract
Professor Konvitz responds to student questions about the apparent contradiction between the omnipotence of God and the concept of human freedom. Man is free but always judged, he suggests. This judgment is rendered only in relation to the individuals, although inevitably children are touched by their parents’ moral decisions. The biblical concept of God, Professor Konvitz demonstrates, is not that of a tribal deity but rather that of a single divinity for the entire world.
