Putting people first: Designing for healthy product choices

Other Titles

Abstract

We should put people first and meet their needs and desires, when designing healthy choices in foods and beverages. Consumers have a broad range of options when it comes to food, which may even be overwhelming. They are being inundated about health from an array of sources. Food science, agriculture and nutrition have created healthy dietary options over the years, but these options are almost lost in the sea of choice. Ultimately, consumers choose what to eat and inducing people to make healthy food choices is a complex problem.
