Abstract

A 14-year-old Geiman Shorthaired Pointer presented for a recent onset of severe right sided periocular swelling and exophthalmos. Physical exam revealed a fluctuant, non-painful swelling around the right periocular region, exophthalmos with dorsolateral displacement of the globe, severe chemosis and swelling and protrusion of the third eyelid. Fine-needle aspiration and computed tomography (CT) examination were consistent with a diagnosis of zygomatic sialocele. The right zygomatic gland was surgically removed by removing the rostral portion of the zygomatic arch. Histopathology of the excised tissue confhmed diagnosis of sialocele.
