DX of DKE Special Study #16: DKE Lodge Refectory Chimes

Other Titles

Abstract

Restoration of a J. C. DEAGAN, INC. (Ravenswood and Berteau, Chicago IL) Model 504 "Type 10 Door Chime" system installed in the foyer of the Cornell University Deke House is described. The instrument's original chime sequences were established by reverse-engineering the salvaged electromechanical controller and consulting with factory experts. A missing chime tube was replaced, a new valance was fabricated, and the control mechanism was rebuilt with a modern programmable controller.
