dc.description.abstract | Women veterans are the fastest growing segment of the veteran community. In 2013, about 2.2 million (or 10 percent) of the nation’s nearly 22 million veterans were women. This number is projected to increase to 2.4 million by 2020. In contrast, the number of male veterans is projected to decrease from 20.1 million to 17.2 million by 2020. | |
