Abstract
[From Introduction] This review is being conducted in the framework of an ILO Project 'The Employment of People with Disabilities: the Impact of Legislation', funded by the government of Ireland. The project aims to promote the economic rights of people with disabilities in selected countries of East Africa and Asia and, thereby, their broader social and political rights, by enhancing the capacity of national governments to implement effective legislation on the employment of people with disabilities. The project sets out to examine the extent of such legislation, identify the implementation mechanisms in place, highlight improvements that may be required, and provide technical assistance to selected national governments for implementing necessary improvements.
