dc.description.abstract[Excerpt] In this chapter we argue that it is necessary to create a fundamentally different patient safety template. Creating that template can produce impressive results. Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn has been successful at creating a safer hospital environment because it has involved both unions and frontline workers.
