The mission of The Leland C. and Mary M. Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship is to support the academic entrepreneurial curriculum of the School of Hotel Administration. There are three core facets to the foundation of our operations: education, experience, and engagement..
We offer student-focused, practical entrepreneurship course offerings that link the academic and the practical at both the undergraduate and graduate level. The courses are designed to provide an analytical framework for students pursuing an entrepreneurial venture..
We guide experiential learning. We create business-plan centric programs to help students obtain experience to reinforce learning, since a good business plan provides a solid foundation for the future growth of a business and subsequently drives economic development and innovation in the dynamic hospitality industry..
We engage with entrepreneurs at all stages of ideation. Most members of our network have a direct tie to the hospitality industry— either as students, faculty, alumni, entrepreneurs, or innovators. We leverage the support of our Advisory Board and Entrepreneur-in-Residence Program to drive outreach, assure relevancy of our programming, and ensure we are embracing new trends in the hospitality industry..
We measure our success based on your long-term success. We look to supporting your entrepreneurial scholarship as you engage with The Pillsbury Institute to make a difference in the hospitality industry.
