2014 CVM News: Cornellians find new worm infecting US cats

Cornell scientists identified the mystery worms as Dracunculus insignis, which had never before been seen in cats. Published in the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery in February 2014, their findings document the first proof that this raccoon parasite can infect cats.
