Abstract
We need strong, but not stifling, regulation to reassure consumers—“appropriate regulation.” It can be streamlined by using preexisting data. The primary emphasis should be on issues that pose the greatest potential risk and issues that are most unfamiliar. We want beneficial products and education to explain those benefits and their production process. People don’t know a lot about the quantities of pesticides used in producing unblemished fruits and vegetables.
