From tools to products and processes: The evolution of Saskatchewan’s agricultural biotechnology cluster

Other Titles

Abstract

From the perspective of Ag-West Biotec, it simply involves creating and capturing value from biological systems. The challenge and the opportunity for each region are the ability to understand and to effectively exploit global comparative advantages. The strategy at AgWest Biotec for Saskatchewan is twofold: marketing their excellent bio-economic infrastructure, and identifying and targeting strategic opportunity sectors. AgWest is probably the earliest example of a technology park focused exclusively on agriculture
