The public sector's role in biotechnology research

Author
Hess, Charles E.
Abstract
A strong national commitment to public funding of agricultural research, technology, and education is essential to the short- and long-term interests of both the U.S. and the world. The role of the public sector in helping agricultural research meet those challenges has historically been a central one — and it will surely remain so.
