201 - The American Community Survey: Tracking How We Change with Multi-Year Estimates

Author

Abstract
An overview of the American Community Survey with particular emphasis on the multi-year period estimates the Census Bureau will produce. These multi-year estimates make data available for smaller geographic areas, as well as improve the statistical reliability of estimates for larger geographic areas. Most surveys produce point estimates for a particular date. Interpreting multi-year estimates requires an understanding of how they are prepared.
