Sublingual squamous cell carcinoma in a 9 year old domestic shorthair feline

Author
Olmsted, Gina Ann
Abstract
Feline sublingual squamous cell carcinoma is a highly locally invasive neoplasm that carries a very grave prognosis even with aggressive treatment. Therefore, palliative care often becomes the treatment of choice for many of these patients. It is important that the client and veterinarian work together as a team to ensure that the patient continues to enjoy a good quality of life during his/her palliative care. It is also important that the palliative care plan be continually re-evaluated as the patient's disease progresses and altered as needed as new challenges arise.
