This report summarizes a high-level “first pass” of user data and metrics extracted for a three-year period of time from 2018 to 2020 from community IPM digital assets housed within the nysipm.cornell.edu domain. The purpose of this analysis was to interpret current user trends in a way that informs the allocation of future resources and staff effort. Geographic CIPM user analysis revealed that a majority are concentrated in urban areas, while growth opportunities in rural areas may be present. Certain CIPM program areas showed high initial interest, but low user retention and may benefit from a closer analysis. Conversely, a separate subset had lower total users, but very high retention rates indicating user interest in relevant content and the possibility that investment in recruitment of first-time users in these program areas may be worthwhile. Several practical steps are also described to improve future analyses of this type as well.
