Abstract

The proposed project is an interactive sonic and visual installation comprised of 45 freestanding robotic bells. Each bell is equipped with sensors, motors, and wireless networking technology. Audience participants interact with the work by using their hands to strike or shake any given bell. The gesture of their interaction is recorded and propagated throughout the bell network, yielding a dynamic sound and movement event that reflects the confluence of a history of previous interactions and the newly introduced energy.
