Ahead of the 19th Party Congress, Chinese authorities are keeping a watchful eye on potential nationalist protests and have given strict guidance to the media about covering Trump. In the event of dramatic US actions in the region, however, public opinion surveys indicate that the Chinese leadership would face public pressure to take tough action.
