Abstract

This paper demonstrates how including farmers in the design process can improve smart farming technologies through an iterative Human-Centered Design (HCD) approach, which is particularly relevant to On-Farm Experimentation supported by digital tools The research also illustrates how a HCD approach can guide and inform the develop- ment of information technology in a project environment that needs to balance expec- tations from internal as well as external stakeholders.
