Description
A winner of the Knight Award for Writing Exercises and Handouts, this work originates from Spanish Literature 113, Globalization and Literature. The goal of this three-part exercise from the eighth week of the seminar is to familiarize students with the concepts of authorial voice, register, and tone. Although the exercise focuses on a work of literature, Gloria Anzaldua's Borderland/La frontera, and culminates with student-produced creative writing, it allows students to develop an awareness of these features that they can transfer to other writing. 4 page pdf
