Abstract

Several book indexing methods are introduced based in part on statistical and in part on syntactic analysis methods to process the text of documents. These indexing methods are used to construct global indexes for two book chapters covering the areas of text compression and text encryption, respectively. An attempt is made to evaluate the adequacy of the several indexing products.
