Abstract

From the video archives of the Cornell Law School Heritage Project. The interviewer is Alfred C. Aman; the videographer, Thomas R. Bruce. This video covers Judge Motley's early work with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the NAACP's litigation strategy for attacking segregation in education, and its focus on issues involving Blacks in the military during World War II. (Duration 20:14) The initial phase of this project was sponsored by a generous grant from the law firm of Sutherland Asbill and Brennan LLP.
