Abstract

The Breakfast Club is a seven-channel video documenting call center employees at work around the world. For the video, seven call center employees are engaged in a live reading of the script of the 1985 movie The Breakfast Club. The reading is performed as a conference call between sites in India, the Philippines, Australia, South Africa, Canada, Ireland and the United States. In the finished installation, each video channel offers a real-time view of one member of the international cast, while in the background the interior workings of call centers around the globe provide a dramatic setting.
