Abstract

This news item is about: Hank, a blue-tick coon hound, was lethargic so his dog-sitter brought him to an emergency veterinary clinic. The four-month-old puppy was severely dehydrated and tested for the distemper virus. Those results came back negative and no other explanation could be found for Hank's worsening condition. After rushing home from vacation, owners Kate and David Cross faced the options of either putting the dog to sleep or trying to get him to Cornell's Companion Animal Hospital for diagnosis.
