Abstract

Following an initial investigation of Wal-Mart in May 2009, this study finds that the company’s auditing system enables poor conditions to persist at its supply factories. The report provides evidence of falsification of documents at Huasheng Factory and false promises of good working conditions at Hantai Factory. It calls upon Wal-Mart to improve conditions at these two factories.
