This case study examines the atypical presentation, physical examination, diagnosis, and successful surgical palliation of laryngeal paralysis in a five year old male neutered black Labrador Retriever. A brief review of geriatric onset laryngeal paralysis polyneuropathy (GOLPP) follows with emphasis on treatment options and prognosis. This seminar will encourage practitioners and owners to consider laryngeal paralysis as a differential in typical as well as atypical upper respiratory cases and to have confidence in diagnosis and discussing treatment or referral.
