Abstract

A simple example of a frame model is presented to shows how to examine the computational details of the element stiffness matrix, using the educational function. The items of computation include the element stiffness matrix and force vector, respectively in local and global coordinates, and transformation matrix for coordinate transformation. The demo shows the alternative methods of representing the information either by the numerical values or symbolic expression.
