Abstract

This news item is about: Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine and Ithaca's Shelter Outreach Services (SOS) are committed to maintaining sterile techniques when caring for animals. A state-of-the-art sterilizer, purchased with generous support from the ASPCA, will be used to sterilize instruments, cloth gowns, and equipment needed for surgery. Earlier this month, College of Veterinary Medicine Dean Michael I. Kotlikoff cut the ribbon on the new sterilizer, which will ultimately help animals in need, including animals from low-income families as well as animals from local shelters, feral cats, barn cats, and dogs and cats from rescue groups.
