Abstract

COVID-19 has forced society to quickly change the way we operate both in our personal and professional lives. Specific to the workplace, many organizations had to figure out how to function with almost all of their employees working virtually. A survey of 800 executives found that, 15% of executives amid the pandemic said at least 10% of their employees could work remotely two or more days a week going forward, almost double the 8% who expressed that intention pre-COVID. This varies globally with 20% of executives in the UK and Germany agreeing with this but only 4% in China. However, all organizations around the world now have to rethink their return to work strategy. They must clearly identify their new business priorities and ways to ensure employee engagement as well as incorporate various workplace adjustments centering on health, technology and design.
