Food waste is one of the most challenging sustainability issues today, and the largest source of this waste is post-consumer food waste. To tackle this challenge, we propose composting as a long-term solution with benefits beyond the food waste dilemma. Aside from being a sustainable way of eliminating waste, compost also has many agricultural benefits that will integrate well into larger sustainable food systems.
