Abstract

Agri-food value chain innovations and technological advances play a role in agri-food system transformations. Innovations span each stage from production to waste. These innovations have implications across the agri-food value chain stages. In order to better understand the implications, we first need to understand innovations, the agri- food system, and agri-food value chain. By researching innovations taxonomies and the existing agri-food innovations resources, this paper will seek to provide an overview of select key parameters that would aid in understanding the impact of various agri-food innovations to assist practitioners, evaluators, and investors in creating and evaluating innovations towards a more sustainable and equitable food systems.
