[Excerpt] European legislation adopted in 2000 prohibits discrimination in employment and training on the grounds of religion and belief, disability, age and sexual orientation. It also prohibits discrimination on the grounds of race or ethnic origin, in employment and areas beyond such as, education, social security, healthcare and access to goods and services, including housing.
