Abstract

Memorial Statement for Professor Myron Gustin Fincher, D.V.M., M.S. (1898-1981) who was Assistant Professor (1926) and Professor (1938) at the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Fincher was appointed Head (1942-1965) of the Department of Medicine and Obstetrics and Director of the Ambulatory Clinic. He also served as Acting Dean (1943-1944) of the College. "During his long career of service to the veterinary profession, he published over 124 articles on diseases of domestic animals and was widely sought as a consultant." He "was highly interested in research [and clinical applications] of reproductive diseases and disorders of horses and cattle." Dr. Fincher was also Director of the New York State Mastitis Research and Control Program with responsibility for six laboratories around the State for nearly 20 years. The memorial statements contained herein were prepared by the Office of the Dean of the University Faculty of Cornell University to honor its faculty for their service to the university.
