Abstract
[Excerpt] Managers’ openness to employee voice – the extent to which they encourage and value employees’ ideas and suggestions for improving unit operations – offers a number of organizational benefits, including greater productivity, enhanced employee motivation and morale, and reduced turnover. But what about staffing? Might it also serve as a talent magnet to attract internal job candidates in this age of open internal labor markets and mounting employee demands for more voice at work? The answer, this study shows, is “yes.”
