Recognizing that the challenges of the new century require an integrated understanding of Earth systems, geological and atmospheric sciences have been combined into an inter-college department. The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences offers three majors at the undergraduate level; graduate students concentrate in traditional fields or cross-disciplinary programs such as biogeochemistry.
