Science marches on, even through the summer lull and a pandemic. Here's the latest round-up of recent results - our twelfth newsletter issue! We welcome your suggestions for newsletter items and thank you for sending us your tips.

General news:

The FRB Catalogue has been migrated to the Transient Name Server. All new reported FRBs should now be submitted to the TNS for naming and cataloguing. The current FRBCAT webpage will remain in operation for the time being but we encourage everyone to start familiarizing themselves with the TNS and making the switch.

From the Astronomer's Telegram
  • Several new bursts have been detected from the first repeating fast radio burst FRB 121102 with the FAST telescope since 17 August, 2020. This suggests a new window of activity from the source (ATel 13959).
Software
  • PrEFERBLE: "Probability Estimates for FRBs to obtain model likelihood estimates" is a python package build to compare observations of Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) to theoretical predictions in order to systematically compare competing models.
  • FRB Community Software Directory: A home is being put together for FRB Community software at frb.software. The site includes links to public code repositories used for FRB science, guides for using these, and information on how you can contribute your own software to the directory.
