Current Research Activities
I am currently investigating (a) the efficacy of a weight monitoring program called Caloric Titration as a means of safely losing and maintaining weight loss [in conjuntion with the Cornell Wellness Program], (b) the effect of watching television advertisements on snacking behavior, (c) survey of eating habits of the Caloric Restriction Society, (d) the relationship between amount of sleep time on energy consumption in Cornell undergraduates, (e) the effect of using chop sticks on total amount consumed at a meal, (f) the effect of memory on amount of food consumed, (g) the effectiveness of an active vs inactive placebo on amount food consumed, (h) the effect of talking about food on snack consumption (i) the effect of introducing nutrition labeling food selection in the Cornell Dining System [in conjunction with Cornell Dining], (j) predictors of freshman weight gain.

Biography

Biographical Statement
Received all degrees from Rutgers University. Arrived at Cornell in 1968 as Post-Doctoral Fellow for two years before becoming an Assistant Professor. I have been a full professor since 1986.Throughout my professional life I have been studying the control of food intake and regulation of body weight.
