Current Professional Activities
Richard V. Burkhauser joined PAM in 1998. His professional career has focused on how public policies affect the economic behavior and well-being of vulnerable populations, e.g., people with disabilities, older persons and low-income households. He has published widely on these topics in journals of demography, economics, gerontology, as well as public policy. 

Current Research Activities
Richard V. Burkhauser is Co-Principal Investigator of the Department of Education RRT Center for Economic Research on Employment Policy for Persons with Disabilities.

Current Extension Activities

As Co-Principal Investigator of the Department of Education RRT Center for Economic Research on Employment Policy for Persons with Disabilities, Richard V. Burkhauser has carried out an extensive program of technical assistance and presentations to government agencies, policymakers and consumers on the employment and economic well-being of people with disabilities.

Biographical Statement
My research focuses on how public policies affect the economic behavior and well-being of vulnerable populations, e.g., older persons, people with disabilities, and low-income households. I have published widely on these topics in journals of demography, economics, gerontology, as well as public policy.
