Current Professional Activities
As Technical Assistance and Training Coordinator for the ACT for Youth project I coordinate a Technical Assistance Team to provide individual technical assistance and training to all 12 ACT for Youth sites across the state. As member of the team, I  work closely with community partnerships providing individual assistance, guidance and resources, on positive youth development, coalition building and collaboration, and outcome based evaluation. TA includes on-site visits and regular online and email contacts.
As chair of the TA Team I organize and conduct centralized and regional trainings including an annual statewide conference. My responsibilities involve the development of new training materials and coordination with other training providers in NYS such as the NYS Association of Youth Bureaus, Cornell Cooperative Extension 4-H, Empire State Coalition, Communities that Care, and Advancing Youth Development Partnership.
The fall of 2007 saw the start up of a new organizational development pilot which aims to promote the integration of youth development principles in organizational practice. The goal is to develop a organizational self-assessment and action planning process that youth serving organizations can utilize enhance their YD practice.
In addition, my responsibilities include to stay up-to-date on research and training in positive youth development field and to inform the ACT for Youth center and community partnerships via list serve, web site and meetings.
The ACT for Youth Center of Excellence provides additional technical assistance and training to youth service providers funded by NYS DOH (abstinence education (up to October 2007), community based pregnancy prevention and HIV prevention providers). TA and training is focused on program based youth development strategies, best practices and evaluation.

In efforts to promote youth development statewide and nationally, I regulary present at state and national conferences. Since 2007 I am member of the NYS Youth Development Team, a coalition of state departments and large non-for-profits, and co-chair a workgroup on organizational capacity building for youth development.
In 2007 I served on the program planning committee for the National Search Conference November 2007 in Rochester

Since 2006 I have been serving as the project director of the NYS Advancing Youth Development Partnership overseeing a grant of $200.000 by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services(OCFS).  The partners are OCFS, Association of NYS Youth Bureaus, CCE and ACT for Youth Center of Excellence. The partnership provides training of facilitators throughout NYS including NYC. In 2006 the core training curriculum was updated and revised. In 2007, the partnership added core competency trainings to its menu of training offerings. As project director I am involved in implementing several trainings and coordinating the annual facilitator conference, core competency trainings and a newly instituted advisory group of community-based lead contacts via web meetings.
I am also member of the training committee of the Association of NYS Youth Bureaus.

I offer workshops and presentations of youth development issues and develop new materials and resources to increase community capacity for youth development.
I work with consultants locally and nationally to develop training strategies and materials to enhance the capacity of local community collaborations to implement youth development.
Planning and coordinating statewide events: ACT for Youth conference days (April/May 2007), youth leadership event in July 2007; program committee member of the 2007 Search Conference
Developed and completed an online resource manual "Positive Youth Development Resource Manual" that includes lessons plans, activities, handouts, refrences, power point slides and facilitation tips.
Currently involved in a new organizational development pilot - In colaboration with a consultant I am developing an organizational assessment tool and formalizing a data analysis and actionplanning process that youth serving organization can use to enhance strategic planning and integration of YD practices in their organizations.

Biographical Statement
MA in Psychology, Westfaelische Wilhelms University in Muenster, Germany in 1979
Years of professional, community based experience in the mental health and human services field in NYS and NJ.
Since 1999 Extension Associate at the Family Life Development Center working on developing a curriculum on collaboration and community building; then as training coordinator for ACT for Youth. 

Published a couple of articles in German, focusing on the effect of unemployment on the future plans of young people.
